Calla was born a warrior and on her eighteenth-birthday she’ll become the alpha female of the next generation of Guardian wolves. But Calla’s predestined path veers off course the moment she saves the life of a wayward hiker, a boy her own age. This human boy’s secret will turn the young pack's world upside down and forever alter the outcome of the centuries-old Witches' War that surrounds them all."

My Review: ***** = 5 Stars

This is one of those books that after you finish reading it, you spend hours thinking about it. I got sucked in right from the first page and it held my attention the entire length of the novel.

I am honestly not that huge of a werewolf fan. The majority of the books I own are vampire related(but my collection is getting more varied now). But this book.... I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book. It was so unique from any other werewolf book that I've read, and the world and relationships that Cremer created were magnificent and powerful.

There are many different relationships throughout this book, siblings, mates, Second in Commands, friends and so on and so forth. But not a single one is unimportant and no matter which relationship was being featured I was intrigued.

Calla is a strong, alpha female who knows what she is and what she is destined for. Then there's Ren, an alpha male, and Calla's future mate. Enter Shay, a human who starts to mix things up and gets Calla to question everything she has ever known.

Talk about intense. This entire book is full of action and romance and everything else that you can think of. I couldn't get enough and I still want more. And for those that have read it, I am unsure of which team I am on. I love Shay. He seems perfect for Calla. But I really like Ren too. Sometimes he seems like such a dick but I could feel the love he has for Calla. I think I will be brokenhearted for the one she doesn't end up with. :(
This makes me sad, but also happy because I hate when everyone loves a certain character and how you just know who will end up with who. While I have my suspicions, I wouldn't mind either outcome.

I don't want to say too much about the characters, because I love for people to find things out as they go but you will not be disappointed. The only thing I'm upset about is having to wait for Wolfsbane, which won't be released until Summer of 2011. *sigh*

*wolfsbane, wolfsbane, wolfsbane*
(Maybe chanting it will get it released sooner... no. Ok. Nevermind.)

P.S This comes out the day before my birthday so I know what I'm making someone get me. The cover on this book is beautiful and I can't wait until I have this in hardcover! :P

Confession time: I've never read any books about werewolves or vampires. I think I'm about the only person left in the world who hasn't. I'm a reading freak.

Everyone seems to be raving about this book, so one part of me is scared it won't live up to the hype, and the other is bouncing with excitement! I'm glad you enjoyed it though. Thanks for the review! :)
