Mini-review: Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins

Last week I received an ARC of Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins(Thank you Hyperion!) and I devoured it in two days. I absolutely loved Hex Hall(check out my 5 star review here), and I had high hopes that Demonglass would be just as good, but of course you never know how it will go with sequels. Well, Demonglass wasn't as good as Hex Hall, it was way better(in my personal opinion).

The story picks up not to long after the final events of Hex Hall and the story moves right along. Now, this isn't my actual review since the book doesn't come out until March, so I won't say anything spoilery about the book because I would hate to ruin it for anyone. But you should know ahead of time, the awesomeness that is Demonglass... yes, there is much awesomeness involved!

All the characters we love are back, as well as some new ones. The geography of the story changes up a bit, and I love the location of where the story takes place. There are some twists and turns along the way, with some romance mixed in, add in great action scenes and two hot swoonworthy guys... *ahem*Cal&Archer*ahem** and there is just the right amount of everything that I could want in an YA novel. I couldn't have more pleased with the book as a whole.

Sophie is one of my favorite characters because she is such a smartass and I can't help but to relate to that some, minus the demonness and magic and drama, so maybe that's what I like her so much.

Of course, since this doesn't come out until March, that means Book 3 won't be out until March of 2012 probably and *sigh* wow that's a long time.

I will post an actual review of this closer to the release date, but I just wanted everyone to know that I loved this book! (um how many times did I say love in this mini-review??).

Did you like Hex Hall? Are you looking forward to Demonglass?

I loved Hex Hall, but I feel like I devoured it so fast I barely remember anything.

Must read it again! Not that it will squash my envy at your ARC. ;)

Thanks for the recommendation.

Hex Hall was a great book - I am jealous that you have read Demonglass.

I am very excited to hear you liked it more than Hex Hall, usually for me, the sequals are not as good as the first book.

I thought Hex Hall was okay. There were parts I genuinely enjoyed and parts that were so so. I liked Sophie as a character. I'm glad that you liked the sequel. I will probably read Demonglass when it is published just to see what happens. I hope I will like it more than Hex Hall too.
