Covers and trailers and EPICNESS! OH MY!

Image
Just because I've been absent from blogging lately, doesn't mean I still don't see the recently revealed covers of upcoming books, as well as the release of book trailers. If anything, I'm on the lookout more, so that I can keep track of what books are coming out and when, so I can snag myself a copy. It seems that this week has gifted us with many a book covers, and one magnificentally well made book trailer. First: As an inkpopper, I've known about Wendy Higgins' upcoming Sweet Evil ever since it was first announced (Coming May 1st, 2012). Well, yesterday Wendy tweeted the cover (you can follow her on twitter too @Wendy_Higgins) and I must say: WOW! It's incredibly beautiful, and elegant and it says so much without saying anything at all. It offers a contrast with not only the bright vs. dark side, but also the vibrant, rich red vs. the deep black. It shows that some type of romance is obviously involved, and I unsurprisingly, am okay with this (Du...

The latest weekly writing challenge, which started April 14th, still has another three days to go. The 6th event in the Dark Days of Supernatural Writing Challenges features Die for Me by Amy Plum. So now that you know there are paranormals unlike any you have ever imagined lets reimagine what immortality might do to you. Write a short story, poem or essay that imagines a life that never ends. What does this world look like? Are you happy, sad or weirdly immune to the world around you? Did you give up the hope of death to save someone you love or to be with that person forever? Tell us about it in the Die for Me wri...

Once there, Tansy is immediately drawn to the turret of their rickety old house, a place she soon learns has a disturbing history. But it's the strange artifacts she finds in the cellar—a pocket watch, a journal of poetry, and a tiny crystal—that have the most chilling impact on her. Tansy soon finds that through the lens of her camera, she can become part of a surreal black-and-white world where her life is intertwined with that of mysterious, troubled Henry, who lived in the same house and died deca...

About this writing challenge: "See me, hear me, touch me, feel me. What must it be like to have heightened senses? In Desires of the Dead, the second book in Kimberly Derting's The Body Finder series, Violet senses the dead, or rather the brutally murdered, through heightened sense of smell, touch, sound and even sight.
