Vanish by Sophie Jordan recently hit the shelves at the beginning of this month. As part of the blog tour for its release, my post features Cassian, who we get to see a different side of in Vanish. A provided a list of This or Thats, and we get to hear from Cassian what he would choose, and why! *** This or That List: Cassian Spring or Fall: Spring … when everything is new again and full of hope. Movies or Television : When I bother to watch anything at all … it’s usually movies. Day or Night: Night … when I can fly. Chocolate or Vanilla: Favorite flavor is verdaberry … probably the same with all draki. Nothing new there. Fight or Flight: I’m an onyx draki, born to fight, born to fly … one of the fastest of my kind. I’m a warrior to the core of me. I’ll do whatever necessary to protect my pride and species. Firelight Tour: Interview w/ Sophie!

Image
I'm so happy to have Sophie Jordan, author of Firelight, here with us today as part of the Teen Book Scene Firelight Tour! Don't leave after the interview because I have something exciting for you!! ******** Question1) There have been many shapeshifting books out and about, what gave you the idea to switch things up and introduce dragons into the mix? Answer1) Well, you just said it! :) I approached writing this book with the attitude that if I was going to write another shapeshifter story I better switch things up. That put the burden on me to come up with something unique, but I wanted to give readers a different experience – as well as myself – in writing it. Q2) Were you thinking of any other animal before dragons or was it always that way? A2) Well, no -- no other animals. I tinkered with writing something involving witches but the idea never took hold. I was patient. I waited for an idea that could really inspire me. When I landed on the dragons, I was seized wit...

Firelight by Sophie Jordan Publication Date: September 7th, 2010 Published by: HarperTeen Hardcover, 336 Pages Source: ARC from friend Summary from Goodreads: "With her rare ability to breathe fire, Jacinda is special even among the draki—the descendants of dragons who can shift between human and dragon forms. But when Jacinda’s rebelliousness leads her family to flee into the human world, she struggles to adapt, even as her draki spirit fades. The one thing that revives it is Will, whose family hunts her kind. Jacinda can’t resist getting closer to him, even though she knows she’s risking not only her life but the draki’s most closely guarded secret." My Review: ***** + = 5+ Stars I love, love, LOVE this book. One, shapeshifting is awesome. Two, dragons are awesome. Put them together and what do you get? A one of a kind, action packed story, full of danger and a romance that you can't get enough of. I have always loved dragons, I mean I even have a dragon tribal ...
