Review: Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols

I recently read(from the Library) Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols as a part of the bookclub forum I am part of. For those of you who don't know what it is about, read the summary below!

Summary from goodreads:

"All Meg has ever wanted is to get away. Away from high school. Away from her backwater town. Away from her parents who seem determined to keep her imprisoned in their dead-end lives. But one crazy evening involving a dare and forbidden railroad tracks, she goes way too far... and almost doesn't make it back.

John made a choice to stay. To enforce the rules. To serve and protect. He has nothing but contempt for what he sees as childish rebellion, and he wants to teach Meg a lesson she won't soon forget. But Meg pushes him to the limit by questioning everything he learned at the police academy. And when he pushes back, demanding to know why she won't be tied down, they will drive each other to the edge - and over..."

My Review: ****1/2 = 4 and a half stars

This book took me quite by surprise. I will admit that while reading it there were parts of it I didn't like(the main character just wanting sex..), But the overall affect of how I felt when it was over, well that's what I look for in every book I read. I love being surprised, caught of gaurd, and I love happy endings. This book contains alcohol, drugs and sex but don't worry thats not too much of a spoiler, you find out when you first start reading. I didn't really like how it was all involved but the author included it as part of the novel and the characters, not just to add it like some authors do. It was all about who the main character was, is, and what she goes through with this cop that ruins her spring break. I loved how it took off right in the beginning, it had me hooked and I just wanted to know how things were going to turn out. Meg is somewhat odd, she has blue hair and no friends that she actually talks to all too much. But as the book progresses we see Meg make major changes in her life and it's amazing to see what some people can overcome, especially the characters in this book. The character of Officer After or John is quite interesting. I had some of him figured out but it was exciting learning about him as an officer and as a regular person. This is a great book and it leaves an awesome feeling inside when you finish reading it, I recommend it to everyone mature YA and up agewise(because of the sex, drugs and alcohol).

Have you already read this, leave me your link so I can check out what you thought(I tried Mr.Linky but we just don't get along... :P)

Awesome review. I definitely loved this book. The sex, etc didn't bother me... but a lot of that stuff doesn't with me. And liek you said- that was MEG, not just something to do.
